Yard Guards PDX – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions explain how our service works, including billing, cancellations, pet safety rules, and your responsibilities as a customer. By signing up, you agree to these terms. Use of our services is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
1. Overview
Yard Guards PDX provides recurring pet waste removal services.
By using our service, you acknowledge and accept these Terms & Conditions.
2. Definitions
- Service: The recurring pet waste removal services provided by Yard Guards PDX.
- Customer: The individual or entity that signs up for the Service.
- Yard Guards PDX: The company providing the Service.
3. Billing & Payments
- Services are billed weekly or biweekly, on the day before the scheduled service, based on the frequency selected.
- All payments are final. No refunds or partial refunds are issued.
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
- By signing up, you authorize recurring automatic charges for your scheduled service.
- Additional service fees may apply for extended accumulation, inaccessible yards, or safety-related service interruptions as outlined in these Terms.
Payment Failures
If a payment fails due to insufficient funds, expired card, or other issues, Yard Guards PDX will attempt to contact the customer to update payment information. Service may be paused until payment is successfully processed.
4. Cancellations & Pausing
- You may cancel or pause your service at any time by emailing support@yardguardspdx.com.
- Cancelling or pausing stops future billing only. If service is paused or skipped and waste accumulation exceeds normal levels for your selected service frequency, the next visit may require additional time, and an additional cleanup fee may apply.
- Weekly pricing is based on consistent weekly service. Repeated skips may result in pricing adjustments to reflect actual service frequency.
5. Service Timing & Policies
- First Service: Scheduled on the next available service day based on your zip code.
- Service Duration: Typically 10–15 minutes per visit; larger yards or multiple piles may take longer, up to 1 hour.
Pets & Access (Aggressive Dogs)
- Pets that are uncomfortable around strangers must be secured during service.
- If a dog becomes aggressive and cannot be safely secured, the service will be stopped for that visit.
- The visit counts as a completed service for billing purposes because our team arrived on-site and attempted the service, which consumes time and resources.
- Customers will be notified if a visit is stopped due to an aggressive dog so they can secure pets for future visits.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring the yard is accessible and pets are secured during service.
- If the yard is inaccessible upon arrival (locked gate, blocked entry, etc.), the visit will count as a completed service for billing purposes.
Right to Adjust Schedule / Service Modifications
- Yard Guards PDX may adjust service days or time windows to optimize routing, staffing, and service efficiency. Customers will be notified in advance.
- Service scope may be modified if necessary for safety, efficiency, or unforeseen circumstances.
Service Exceptions
- Yard Guards PDX provides routine pet waste removal. We are not responsible for extreme or unusual yard conditions beyond normal pet waste, such as fallen tree branches, flooding, mudslides, or other extraordinary hazards.
6. Service Issues & Complaints
Concerns about service must be reported to support@yardguardspdx.com within 48 hours of the visit.
All issues are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Any resolution is at the discretion of Yard Guards PDX and does not constitute a refund, credit, or guarantee.
7. Photos & Videos
- Yard Guards PDX may take photos or short videos for promotional purposes.
- No personal identifying information (names, addresses, phone numbers) will be shared.
- Consent is required to feature your yard; email support@yardguardspdx.com to grant or withdraw consent.
8. Disputes & Chargebacks
Contact Yard Guards PDX directly to resolve concerns before initiating a dispute or chargeback.
Payments are non-refundable, and cancellations only stop future billing. Additional fees, including extra cleanup charges due to skipped, paused, or inaccessible service, cannot be disputed or reversed.
9. Limitation of Liability
Yard Guards PDX is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including property damage, lost wages, or personal injury, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
10. Force Majeure
Yard Guards PDX is not responsible for delays, missed services, or additional fees resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, natural disasters, acts of God, labor disputes, or other unforeseen circumstances. Customers remain responsible for all charges for scheduled services affected by such events.
11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Portland, Oregon.
12. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Yard Guards PDX regarding the services provided and supersede any prior agreements or communications, except as otherwise stated in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to Terms
Yard Guards PDX may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The most current version will be posted on the website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
15. Electronic Communications
By signing up, you consent to receive service-related communications via email or text, including service reminders, on-the-way notifications, invoices, and important updates regarding your account or scheduled visits.
16. Marketing Communications
By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, you consent to receive marketing communications from Yard Guards PDX, including promotional emails and SMS messages.
You may opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in emails or replying "STOP" to SMS.
Service-related emails and texts (on-the-way notifications, receipts, account updates) will continue regardless of marketing preferences.
